Aid for Women of Northern Lake County (AFW) is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit center located in Gurnee, Illinois. We are a non-profit organization, providing education, assistance and resources for women who are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or have recently had children. We are located at 4606 Old Grand Avenue, Unit 4, Gurnee, Illinois, next to the Gurnee Fire Department.

AFW offers free pregnancy babyandmomtesting and doctor referrals for prenatal care. All clients are offered information about adoption and natural family planning. All services are free and confidential.

AFW accepts donations of baby care products such as diapers, formula, wipes, baby bottles and baby clothes (up to 12 months). Collections are also taken in for saucers, playpens, highchairs, strollers, swings and other baby items. These items are given to women who are in need of baby care assistance. All donations are tax deductible.

Clients are seen by appointment only, and Spanish speaking assistance is available. Services are free, however clients must show a valid picture ID or Medical Card at the time of appointment. Aid of Women also offers a 24 hour telephone hot line.
